Rosary Sr. Sec. School Delhi
Ms. Veena Harrison

Period of Service 25-Aug-1969 to 31-Dec-2005

I am really grateful to God that during 36 years of my service in Rosary School I could use all my talents to glorify the name of our Lord Jesus.

I actively organized all the cultural programs, contributed in activities like sports day, annual fete, school magazine, Inter school quiz competition and so on.

My subject was Art (drawing and painting) and craft and I taught that with total dedication Three of my students won the prestigious Soviet Land Nehru Award for their paintings for 3 consecutive years. They were among the five students chosen from all over India to visit USSR. I was recognized for this on teachers day by the then principal Fr. George Pannakal.

In the year 1989 I wrote and composed a song “To bring honor and glory to God” for the feast of holy Rosary function. Everyone liked and appreciated it so much that it was decided to make it the school Anthem.

I wrote and directed a Hindi play for Girl child year which won 1st prize in 2 different inters-school drama competitions.

For school Annual functions I wrote and directed musical plays; ”Prem ki Gatha”, “ Noah’s Ark”, “ Love is the answer, murtikar ka sapna”. [these are some of the memorable ones] Archbishop liked Noah’s Ark so much that he asked us for a repeat performance for general public. It was performed in the St. Columbus school ground. It was once again appreciated by about one thousand spectators.

Love is the answer… was my last Endeavour It was dedicated to Mother Teressa. My biggest achievement in this musical play was that EACH AND EVERY student participated in it. There were about 2500 students. As a teacher I always felt that every individual student is important and should be given due importance. I thank God that I could prove it that we need not choose a few best ones and put up a show and performance of this magnitude is possible.

All my plays were based on Gospel and related to present time scenario. I always tried to convey love of Our Lord Jesus through these musical plays.

Although my main subject was Art but time to time I taught many other subjects like English, Hindi, S.St., GK, Moral Science,

I feel happy and blessed that I could teach Value Education to the students of classes 11th and 12th so effectively that till today some of them send messages on facebook saying that those lessons helped them in difficult and tricky situations in life.

After retiring from Rosary School God had another commission for me. My church; Christ Methodist Church asked me to establish a new school in Naggar near Manali. I was appointed as the Principal of John Wesley Public School in Naggar. In 2007 I started the school from a scratch and by God’s grace it has successfully reached to 9th class level as one of the most sort after school in the valley. I very strongly feel that God gave me a 36 years training in Rosary school to establish this school to glorify his name. After 6 years I retired from JWPS but I am still actively involved.

My greetings to the whole Rosarian family!!
